At Fostering Hearts Florida, we believe education is the foundation of confidence, stability, and opportunity. Through strong partnerships with local nonprofits and community organizations, we bring educators, mentorship, and personalized academic support directly to foster youth, meeting them where they are, both physically and emotionally. Every student we serve receives a plan tailored to their needs, helping them reach milestones, build self-worth, and create brighter futures.
Personalized Education in Safe, Supportive Environments
Every child receives a personalized education plan designed to meet them where they are.
Helping students catch up in reading, math, and other core subjects.
Offering GED programs and life skills support for youth preparing for adulthood.
At Fostering Hearts Florida, our programs are designed to do more than educate, they empower. Each initiative addresses a vital part of a foster youth’s journey, from academic growth and emotional healing to developing practical life skills for independence. By combining education, mentorship, and community partnerships, we provide the consistent support and resources that help young people overcome challenges, discover their potential, and build brighter futures.
(Lutz, FL – Hillsborough County)
At Joshua House, Fostering Hearts Florida provides a dedicated classroom and full-time educator for boys ages 6–12 living in foster care. We deliver daily support in reading, math, and small-group learning to help close academic gaps. For older youth (ages 16–17), our GED educators visit 2–3 times per week to guide students toward completing their GED and preparing for future opportunities.
Honoring a Legacy. Empowering the Next Generation.
Our PEG’s Kids program, named in memory of Peg, a social worker who devoted her life to older foster youth, continues her legacy by helping teens at Joshua House earn their GED. This program gives students the chance to re-engage in learning and take control of their futures through consistent guidance and mentorship.
